First Real Post

Hey people...2006 has gone by, a year that has been good to some and not too good for some. But now that the year has almost ended, lets take a look at what happened.

I entered Second Year, enjoyed the first semester a lot.
Sachin Tendulkar's retirement was debated more than any other topic.
Greg Chappell was first hailed and then nailed for his coaching abilities.
Prince came out of the well...[i hope u still remember who Prince was]
Reservation brought the country's youth to the streets.
I fell asleep during 3 practicals and 7 lectures.
I woke up in time for attendance.
Sachin scored 142* from 130-odd balls... the news channels hailed him again, "The Return of the King" read one news headline that time...
India lost that match by the Duckworth Lewis Method... another century by the Little Master put to waste.
Krrish/RDB/Lage Raho/Dhoom 2/Don/KANK became the biggest hits of the year.
A lot of Pakistani music got success in India, how do we forget the fact that Indian music is still banned in Pakistan...anyways, Atif Aslam/Jal was the only thing that could be heard as much as Himesh on the Radio and TV.
India got squashed in South Africa in the ODI series and lost their 4th consecutive match. Saurav was back in the team.
Sachin's form was again being debated!
I got a decent result in the first sem and that opened the flood gates for enjoying the holidays.
One very important fact, i finished my exams on 12 Dec and the results were out on 16th!!! That in itself is a record!!!
If the saas-bahu serials weren't enough, then came the reality shows like Big Boss [I haven't seen a single episode, and thus have retained my sanity!], Sa Re Ga Ma Li'l Champs, Nach Baliye 2 etc. The Great Indian Laughter Champions 2 had to recall Raju Srivastav for literally every episode, obviously the current champs are not good enough!!!
A few good things happened on TV, e.g. we got a very good broadcasting team for the India vs South Africa series, sans Mandira Bedi and Charu Sharma and the gang...the only real loss being "Sir" Geoffrey Boycott.
Sreesanth really kicked Andre Nel's **s... India won the test Saurav scored a 50, everybody was happy.
So all in all 2006 was a mixed bag.
